Orange & Lemon Mint

Orange mint and lemon mint are citrus-scented mint varieties (both forms of Mentha × piperita citrata) that layer a bright, citrusy top note over a milder mint base. Orange mint in particular is sometimes called bergamot mint for its resemblance to the citrus used in Earl Grey tea.

Growing Citrus Mints

Orange and lemon mint grow and spread just like other mints in the family, so container growing is the standard way to keep them from taking over a bed. They're just as easy and tolerant of a range of conditions as spearmint and peppermint.
