Frogs are one of the few garden visitors worth welcoming rather than repelling — a single frog can eat its body weight in insects in a night.

Why They're Worth Keeping

Frogs feed on slugs, beetles, and other soft-bodied pests that damage plants, making them a genuinely useful form of natural pest control. Unlike deer or rabbits, frogs don't touch foliage or blooms at all.

Encouraging Them to Stay

A small water feature, a damp shady corner, or even a shallow dish of water gives frogs a reason to settle in. Avoid pesticide use near these areas, since frogs absorb chemicals easily through their skin.
