ANIMAL CONTROL RECIPE

Deer Repellent

A rotten-egg spray leans on deer's extremely sensitive sense of smell, signaling danger long before they get close enough to take a bite.

Deerrepellent
Prep: 10 min + 1 day steep
Yields: about 1 quart
Organic-friendly

Ingredients

2 eggs
1 cup water
1 tablespoon hot sauce
1 teaspoon mild liquid dish soap

Instructions

1

Blend the eggs, water, and hot sauce together until smooth.

2

Pour into a covered container and let sit for 24 hours to develop a strong odor.

3

Strain, then stir in the dish soap so the spray clings to leaves.

4

Spray on and around plants deer tend to browse, reapplying after rain or every 2 weeks.

Tip: Rotate this with a different repellent every few weeks — deer that browse regularly can eventually get used to a single scent.
