Deer and Mice Repellent Spray

A peppermint-oil spray covers two very different pests with one bottle — deer avoid the strong scent from a distance, while mice steer clear of it entirely up close.

Deerandmicerepellentspray
Prep: 5 minutes
Yields: about 1 quart
Organic-friendly

Ingredients

1 quart water
2 tablespoons peppermint essential oil
1 teaspoon mild liquid dish soap

Instructions

1

Combine the water and peppermint oil in a spray bottle.

2

Add the dish soap so the spray clings to leaves and surfaces, then shake well.

3

Spray on garden borders for deer, and along baseboards or entry points for mice, reapplying every 1 to 2 weeks.

Tip: For mice indoors, soak cotton balls in the spray instead and tuck them near entry points rather than spraying surfaces directly.
