Ant Bait
A simple borax-and-sugar bait that ants carry back to the nest themselves — it wipes out the colony at the source instead of just the ants you can see.

Instructions
Dissolve the sugar and borax completely in the warm water, stirring until no granules remain.
Soak several cotton balls in the mixture until saturated, then let excess liquid drip off.
Place a soaked cotton ball in each small container, poking a few holes in the lid so ants can get in.
Set the bait stations along ant trails or near entry points, away from pets and children.
Re-soak the cotton balls every few days and keep bait available for one to two weeks until activity stops.
Tip: Give it a week — the bait is slow-acting on purpose, so ants have time to carry it back and share it with the whole colony, including the queen.
Caution: Borax is toxic to pets and children if ingested — place stations in covered containers or out of reach, not in open dishes.
